New Header Action Collection
Overview
The Header Action Collection empowers you to enrich the visual appeal and functionality of screen flows in Salesforce. It allows you to embed interactive buttons or links directly within the header section of your flow screens. These actions can be configured with custom labels, icons, and underlying logic, giving users quick access to key functions or information within your flow.
Benefits
Improved User Experience: Enhance user navigation and engagement by placing essential actions prominently in the header.
Streamlined Flow Design: Reduce screen clutter by consolidating frequently used actions within the header area.
Clear Visual Cues: Utilize icons to provide intuitive guidance for user interactions.
How It Works
Drag and Drop: From the Avonni Actions section in Flow Builder, locate the Header Action Collection and drag it onto your desired screen element.
Configure Actions: You can define multiple actions within the Action Collection's properties. For each action, set:
Label: The text that will appear on the button or link.
Icon Name: (Optional) Select an available library icon to represent the action visually.
Action Type: Choose the action you want to trigger (e.g., navigate to another screen, execute a flow element, launch a URL).
Action Logic: Configure the specific behavior of the action (e.g., which screen to navigate to, which flow element to activate, which URL to open).
Customize Appearance: (Optional) Fine-tune the styling of the action buttons or links using available styling options.
Settings and Options
Create Actions with Label and Icon Name: This is the core functionality of the Header Action Collection. You can define multiple actions, each with its label and icon.
Example Use Cases
Navigation: Provide quick links to different sections or screens within a multi-step flow.
Data Manipulation: Trigger actions to create, update, or delete records in Salesforce.
External Resources: Open help articles, documentation, or related websites.
Contextual Actions: Display actions relevant to the specific data or context of the current screen.
Tips and Considerations
Limit the Number of Actions: To avoid overwhelming users, keep the number of header actions manageable - or use the visible action buttons attribute.
Use Clear Labels: Ensure action labels concisely and accurately describe the intended function.
Choose Meaningful Icons: Icons should be intuitive and complement the action labels.
Prioritize Important Actions: The most critical or frequently used actions are in the header.
